“Shouts of laughter are heard each evening by delighted audiences at the hall of the San Francisco Minstrels. Among the many side-splitting acts done by this company last week and continued this week, is that called ‘A Dangerous Game; or, the Keno Sharps.’ It affords Birch and Backus an opportunity of letting loose their wit to the tether, and they keep the audience roaring with laughter. Wambold is singing a new ballad in the first part and another one in the olio, both of which have become favorites. Cooper and Fields are doing a new song and dance called ‘I will Marry her so early in the Morning.’ The ‘Shadow Pantomime’ is also on the bills, and the burlesque ‘Black Cook’ introduces the Fairy-Queen, W. H. Bernard and the entire African Ballet Troupe.”
