The Italian opera has closed its season. Except for Ronconi’s “Antonio” in Donizetti’s Linda di Chamounix, no significant performances need to be mentioned. Even Peralta’s “artistic tricks” started to become boring. Her performance became repetitive. However; she has found lots of supporters and praise here and left the city with full pockets. (…) Maretzek did not re-hire any of the ensemble members, so we will have an all new cast next season. Kellogg has planned to go to Europe for continuing education, which we fully support. It is not yet clear whether she will go. If she remains in New York she will probably again be a member of the Italian opera. The information that the two Pattis will come to the States is unlikely, because they have been showered with other offers for the next several years. (…)
