“Messrs. Birch and Wambold are still maintaining the even ‘tenor’ of their way in their habitat at 585 Broadway.  Mr. Wambold sang excellently on Thursday evening ‘Come Home, Father,’ and Mr. Grier is a decided acquisition to the company.  The San Francisco Minstrels sport a ‘Japanese Troupe,’ also, like the rest of their musical fraternity.”

“The San Francisco Minstrels know how to get up a good programme as well as how to perform it.  Each local event is touched upon in dark colors, and new ballads weekly added to their list.  In fun or sentiment, in vocalization or instrumentation, the boys of Frisco keep up the interest of their entertainment, and thereby gain the popular favor.”
