“Steinway Hall, on Fourteenth street, which became so popular last season, will reopen on Tuesday evening, October 1. During the summer season many important additions and improvements have been made, all tending to the greater comfort of the audience, and the increased adaptability of the room to its use as a music hall. In addition to the former spacious entrances, a new grand entrance has been made level with the sidewalk on Fourteenth street, a part of the marble building adjoining having been used for the purpose. The double entrance communicates directly with a spacious vestibule, whence a grand staircase fourteen feet in width leads directly to the hall.

The two large patent sunlights inserted in the ceiling, which also act as ventilators, have been still further improved, and in addition ten large gas candelabra have been placed on the piers, between the windows of the hall. [remainder of article repeats information from 09/17/67].”
