“The ‘Black Crook,’ in its new suit of summer clothing, meets with continued favor at Niblo’s Garden, which establishment is a New York mint for its manager.  The boast of Mr. Wheatley, that he intended to run the ‘Crook’ for an entire year seems to be in a fair way of being fulfilled, for not only are the houses good, but in most instances the piece is crowded.  We are told that when the ‘Crook’ ceases to draw, a grand spectacular pantomime is to be produced, for which the scenery, appointments, etc., are now being prepared.”
