The performance was sold out, as is usually the case when the Three Dwarfs perform. The audience was very pleased.

The event was for the benefit of the three “little artists” Jean Piccolo, Jean Petit and Kish Joszi. The theater was well attended for a change. The performance of the three was very pleasing, very authentic in the portraying of the different characters with an excellent sense of humor.

The operetta itself is light entertainment and the score somewhat “engineered”; the music, however, is very melodious and reminiscent of old folk and student songs (…). The fact that the “Burschen” are played by women seems to have appeal to a part of the audience. Except for Mrs. Schermann, none of the female “Burschen” looked convincing. Miss Haffner sang her part fairly well and also looked decent as a student. The libretto of the operetta derives from the play Die Tochter Pharaonis.
