“The three hundredth performance of the ‘Black Crook’ at Niblo’s Garden takes place on the 6th inst. [i.e., July]. Notwithstanding the attendance has fallen off considerably the past two weeks, yet the managers are, no doubt, perfectly satisfied with the returns, taking into consideration the excessively warm nights, and the fact that they are doing the best business of any place in town.”
