“Great preparations are being made for the production of the ‘Devil’s Auction’ at Banvard’s Museum.  It has been in preparation for several weeks and was expected to be ready for this evening, but the great amount of work that is being bestowed upon it and the many necessary the management have concluded not to bring it out until it is complete in all its details.”

“On Saturday night next a spectacle will be produced at Banvard’s Theatre on Broadway, in which a number of new dancers from Europe will make their first pas before the American public.  There will be three premières danseuses, the fourth and best not having yet arrived from Milan. [Morlacchi]  The names of those already in the city are Diani, Blasina and Sohlke.”  Continues with biographical information and physical descriptions of the dancers.
