“This place of amusement received another evidence of public appreciation of the efforts of its manager to provide the public with a substantial place of amusement, by the overflowing audience which occupied even the standing room of the place. The programme for the occasion was one of the usual character embracing vocal and instrumental music—serious, comic and burlesque—and a very artistic ballet entitled ‘La Cicilienne.’ The closing piece was the military drama entitled the ‘Female Clerks of Washington,’ which was produced in splendid style, with new scenery, tableaux and the full dramatic company.”

“‘The Female Clerks of Washington’ pleases the patrons of Charley White's Hall, judging by the amount of applause bestowed upon the piece each evening, for it goes off amidst thunders of applause.”
