“‘The Black Crook’ continues to crowd Niblo’s Garden every night. The attendance is just as large now as it was on the first week of its production.  Hundreds are to be seen standing up each evening, while the aisles are crowded with camp stools. Seats are secured from seven to ten days in advance, and it is impossible to get a good seat in the lower part of the house on the evening of the performance. This is the naked truth.”
