The event attracted a large audience. The chorus performed the often difficult choral pieces rather well. The New York Quartett Club performed their prized song “Gaudeamus igitur” at the end of the concert and the audience received it very well.

Review: New-Yorker Musik-Zeitung, 02 November 1867, 202.

The event was very well attended. The concert was excellently performed and also well conducted by Mangold. F. Otto’s song “Liebe and Gnade” performed by the Schillerbund received enthusiastic applause. The NY Quartet Club performed its Philadephia prize song, which excited the audience as well. We wish both choruses much success.
