“. . . . Thursday evening, the Roman d’une heure was very well performed by M. Chandora and Mme Saunier. The latter obtained her usual success: it’s impossible to act with more grace and artlessness. On the other hand, we will not give our compliments to the conductor who replaced M. Predigam, and who was never together [with the singers] for the songs. In the Club de femmes, the success was for Mlle Dembrun, who nipped off a cancan that was so pleasing that she had to begin all over again.”
