On August 20th [incorrect date], the Thüringer Sängerbund gave a Grand Thüring Festival including bird shooting. It was the first of this kind of festival organized by a chorus, and the ticket sale proved its success. Adolph Schmitt’s band played for the dancers; the attending singers also did well at the shooting. Other participating choruses were the Rheinische Sängerbund, Aurora, Wolfsschlucht, Taunus Sängerbund, Liederhain, Hudson City Quartett Club and Polyhymnia. (…)
