Several weeks ago we already scolded the manner in which Grau has let his artists down (though clearly not his fault), because he could not find theaters to perform in. Now other papers have picked up on the situation and they are coming down hard on him.

It would have been advisable for the artists to ask for an advance once they got hired. They are in a deplorable situation now. Other artists for the winter season are already hired and now Grau’s performers have to endure the winter without income. The affected artists are the ladies: Carozzi-Zucchi, Giovanni, Mazetti, Morensi (she was hired in Berlin) and gentlemen: Sirchia, Anastasi, Bartolini, Amodio, Bagaglia and Mazetti.
