(New Yorker Review) …Attendance at performances of the French opera seems to be on the rise. At least at one event last week the attendance was high. There are no great performers with brilliant voices as soloists; however, the ensemble in general is doing a satisfactory job. Mlle. Naddie has a captivating appearance, graceful movements, a gifted and well-trained voice and is a warm and appealing actress. She is the backbone and ‘shining light’ of the opera. Noteworthy are also Mr. Anthelme if one can ignore his inappropriate falsetto at times, and the gentlemen Wilhelm and Edward.
