Announces Maretzek’s plans for the season, starting Monday 23 September. Lists most of the performers, as well as the projected new operas—Don Carlos by Verdi, Roméo et Juliette by Gounod, Don Bucefalo by Cagnoni, Leonora by Mercadante and Pipelè [1855] by [Serafino Amedeo de] Ferrari [6 May 1824—27 March 1885]. Operas returning include I Capuletti ed I Montecchi of Bellini and Vaccai, Le Prophète, Othello, Maria di Rohan and Belisario.
