"Bunyan Hall, although not exactly a minstrel or variety house, is a popular place of amusement in another line. The scenes from the well known Pilgrim’s Progress form a beautiful spectacle, which is enhanced by the accessories of music and transformation effects. It is a religious entertainment, but also unites all the attractions of the secular theatre.”
