“Last Tuesday the Beethoven Mixed Chorus had its 1st Annual Foundation Anniversary Celebration at the chorus restaurant Lincoln Hall. The celebration consisted of a concert and social dance. The chorus impressed with the performance of Romberg’s “Die Glocke” with four choruses and solos. We regret that the chorus is not performing on a larger scale in public yet. Many solo performances of women and men were highly acknowledged by the audience. At the beginning of the concert, the conductor, Mr. F. Lang, was surprised with the presentation of a splendidly ornamented baton for him. He showed his appreciation with a beautiful speech.”
