The 35-40 member Euphonia chorus performed their pieces fairly well. President of the chorus and tenor Braumann gave a noticeable performance with his tenor solos. Froh’s bass solo was also well done.

Review: New-Yorker Musik-Zeitung, 30 November 1867, 267.

The 10th Annual Foundation Day Celebration of the Euphonia chorus was successful. Mr. Mangold directed…The solo singers were taken from the active members of their chorus, and they did very well. Mr. Braumann, who is also the president of the Euphonia society, has a beautiful, lyrical tenor and he possesses the ability to almost unnoticeably slip into falsetto. He sang Kuhn’s “Schlummerlied” and Abt’s “Wach auf, mein Lieb”. Mr. Diehm excelled with jodeln [yodels], and Mr. Froh impressed with the well-known bass solo “500,000 Teufel.” Although there were some insecurities in the choral parts, and the entrance of the basses could have been a little stronger, the overall impression of the performances was pleasant.
