“… had an extremely large and unexceptional audience.  The entertainment was in aid of the New-York Caledonian Club, and to raise funds to extend its library. The good purpose of will be greatly forwarded by the proceeds, for they must reach a handsome amount. The Club with their pipers attended in national costume, and the entire party joined voices and instruments in the ever-stirring ‘Lang Syne.’”
