The general meeting of the Schwäbische Sängerbund took place last Sunday evening (12/02/67) at Walhalla. Several new officers were elected [names are listed]. At this point the chorus counts 1 honorary member, 46 active and 36 passive members. The chorus once had many more members. Unfortunately disputes and quarrels have reduced the membership in the last 6 years when the chorus was founded. However; lately the membership count has been rising again. The chorus is in good financial standing.

The New York Schwäbische Gesangsverein is a branch of the larger Schwäbische Gesangsverein in Germany, which is the umbrella organization for 742 choruses of Würtenberg [an area in Germany around Stuttgart]. The president of the umbrella organization is Dr. Otto Elben, and he is the one honorary member of the NY chorus. Due to these connections, the NY chorus receives the finest instruments directly from Stuttgart for an incomparably low price.
