“The American Theatre under the management of Robert Butler, with the stage department under the charge of the popular La Thorne, was about the only place of amusement in the city last week that did not exhibit any great falling off in the attendance. The patrons of this house did not appear to mind the bad weather, for the hall was very well attended every evening except Wednesday, when there was a slight diminution in the attendance. The principal attractions at present are Vivian, the comic vocalist; Johnny Thompson and Charley Pettengill, song and dance business; Bob Hart, Geo. Coes, Frank Kerns and James Wambold, general performers.”
