“ ‘The Dutch Cheese Opera’ is one of the acts offered by the San Francisco Minstrels; also another one called ‘The Dickens to Pay; or, Little Nell,’ in which Birch and Backus will play the dickens with things in general. The burlesque of ‘The Haunted House,’ which generally provokes considerable laughter, is also announced. As this Company was the only regular Minstrel entertainment that was open during the latter part of the week, they had a fair run of houses.”
