“Yesterday this excellent association entertained the sick and wounded soldiers, to the number of two hundred, at their rooms, No. 194 Broadway, and the arrangements were well worthy the attention of the vast number of spectators who assembled on the occasion. [Description of the dining room decorations]
A fine band was in attendance, furnished for the occasion by the liberal kindness of Mr. Bennett, of the New-York Seventh Regiment, which performed patriotic and spirit stirring airs while the men were feasting.
After dinner several addresses were delivered, the band did well its part and the utmost jollity prevailed.”
