“During the past week he [Lingard] sang his new lady song of ‘Walking Down Broadway’ and his other lady song of ‘As Through the Park I Go,’ but his ‘On the Beach at Long Branch’ is decidedly his best, and so far most successful lady song. In appearing in three different lady songs Mr. Lingard should change the color of his wig as well as the style of dress, as there is no change whatever in his face in appearing in the different characters.  There is too much sameness in the make-up.”
