Edward Mollenhauer composes the opera, Rosa, the Corsican Bride. “Edward Mollenhauer, the well-known violinist and leader of the Winter Garden orchestra, has recently composed a tragic opera called ‘Rosa, the Corsican Bride,’ the text arranged (in German) by Dr. Koehler, suggested by Mr. De Walden’s popular play, ‘Rosa Gregorio,’ for which, by the way, Mr. Mollenhauer composed some very pleasing incidental music when the play was running at the Winter Garden. The new opera is in rehearsal, and will probably be produced by Carl Anschutz’s troupe.”
