“The new hall and the new company have been received with enthusiasm.  Hundreds are turned away nightly.  The programme is varied for the present week.”

“Crowded audiences greeted the Bryant’s Minstrels every evening the past week, and on several occasions large numbers of ladies had to leave, unable to obtain a seat.  Since the opening night several improvements have been made in the ventilation of the house, and the auditorium on the warmest night last week was quite comfortable.  In addition to the six large windows on the north side of the hall, a lattice work has been made over the inner entrance door, which brings in a current of air, making the dress circle comfortable on the most crowded occasion.  There was a slight change in the programme from the opening week, but everything was well received, and the principal songs and acts encored.”
