“A concert was given at Dodworth Hall on Saturday evening to the wife of Mr. J. J. Geary, who was compelled to flee from Ireland during the Fenian excitement. Mrs. Fitzpatrick, formerly Miss Mina Geary, sang ‘The Minstrel Boy’ and ‘The Harp that once through Tara’s Halls,’ with much sweetness and vigor. She was frequently encored. Her voice is a soprano, and she knows how to use it. Messrs. Fitzpatrick, Spining, and others also sang. The concert was a success, and the attendance respectably large.”
