Philharmonic Society of New York.

At a full meeting of the above Society, held Tuesday, June 30, 1868, at 74 East Fourth street, the following preamble and resolution were read and adopted unanimously:—

H. Ogden Dormeus, M. D., President of the Philharmonic Society. Dear Sir—As it has pleased Providence to visit you and your family with the most terrible of afflictions, we, the members of the Philharmonic Society, affectionately tender our esteemed President, the following expression of condolence:—

Resolved, That the heart of the Society is paralyzed with emotion and sympathy for you in this hour of trial, in consequences of your late bereavement in the very sudden loss of your musical little cherub by the most awful visitation that could befall the family circle.

We would wish to stand by you in this hour of your sorrow and would fain share it with you to the utmost extent of our sympathies.

On motion, resolved that the committee, consisting of Messrs. U. C. Hill, H. Keyer and D. Schaad, present these testimonials without delay. By order.

D. SCHAAD, Secretary.”
