“The new ‘Hibernicon,’ or Tour in Ireland, is meeting with deserved success at Pike’s Music Hall. Besides the panorama we here have an efficient orchestra and a talented company taking part in the exhibition.”
“The capacity of Pike’s New Music Hall was singularly tested last evening. Mr. MacEvoy gave an exhibition of the new Hibernicon on the occasion, for the benefit of a Catholic church which is being erected by Dr. Burtschill in Seventy-eighth-street, we believe, and an effort was made to crowd all the friends, and a portion of the congregation, of the new church into the Music Hall last night. The result was a crowd of about 2,000 people inside the building, and a crowd of 1,000 outside. At any rate nearly 3,000 tickets were sold for the benefit. The success of the Hibernicon seems to be assured.”
“McEvoy’s Hibernicon, now in its third week at Pike’s Music Hall, has been meeting with considerable success. On the 17th inst., the large hall was densely crowded and over one thousand people turned away unable to obtain even standing room. As we stated last week, the painting is a fine affair, and deserves the liberal patronage being bestowed upon it.”
