Gutted.—Quite a change has been made in the Fifth Avenue Opera House, the entire structure having been gutted, leaving nothing but three bare walls standing. The roof has been taken off and the south wall taken down. All the flooring has been removed and workmen are now busily engaged digging in the cellar. The rebuilding of this house will be pushed forward as rapidly as possible so as to re-open about the middle of September. It will contain a parquet and a circle of boxes, and the auditorium will be fitted up ‘regardless of expense.’ The entrance to the first-circle will be on a level with the street and not up one flight of stairs as before.”
