“Lingard, the original ‘Captain Jinks,’ continues his comical personal sketches at the bijou Theatre Comique. Although the season at Long Branch is near its close, still the facetious mimic transports his audience nightly to the sandy ‘beach’ where he ‘feeds his horse on corn and beans.’ ‘All that Glitters is not Gold’ is announced for every night during the week.”
Part of review for previous week’s performances. “McKee Rankin was added to the company the past week, and J. T. Raymond commences the present.”
“All That Glitters is not Gold was presented at the Theatre Comique on the 14th inst., on which occasion John T. Raymond made his reappearance in this city, after a long absence, as Toby Twinkle. Maurice Pike appeared as Frederick Plum, McKee Rankin as Stephen and Alice Dunning as Martha. Mr. Edward Ward attempted to play the part of Sir Arthur.”
