The success of “Barbe Bleue” at nearby Niblo’s contributes to the popularity of Humpty Dumpty.  “So well-balanced a combination of pantomime, music, and the ballet has never before been produced here; and the management do not allow any part of the performance to flag. The coolness of the theatre, largely aided by its artificial ventilation, is an additional reason for its popularity.”

“‘Humpty Dumpty’ continues to attract excellent audiences to the Olympic Theatre. As the nights grow cooler the attendance becomes much better, and this successful pantomime bids fair to run up to November, the commencement of the fall and winter season.”
