North-East Sängerbund. The special association of New York and vicinity has been quite active: weekly delegate meetings and also two rehearsals weekly. Unfortunately, conductor Paur is late every time, which shortens the two-hour time period designated for practice. The choruses of the Sängerbund are preparing for a concert on August 3rd for which several mass choruses are planned.

…Meeting July 1st: The necessity for good rehearsal attendance has resulted in a penalty fee for missing members for individual choruses. At least two thirds of the active members of a chorus have to be present at the roll-call at the end of the rehearsal. The penalty fee of 10 cents will be for every missing member beyond the attending two thirds. The fees are given to the individual choruses for their treasury. At the beginning of the rehearsals, complementary admission tickets for the concert and picnic on August 3rd will be distributed among the attendees for themselves, family and friends. The concert admission for non-members and passive members is 25 cents for one gentleman and lady, and an extra 25 cents for another lady.

The rehearsals for the North-East Sängerbund concert on August 3rd at Jones Wood have been sparsely attended. We wonder if a good quality-performance for the concert will be feasible. The conductor A. Paur has been doing his best to rehearse with attentiveness with the few attendees. We hope the attendance will rise now that we are approaching the performance date.

Although the arrangements for the festival and concert left nothing to wish for, the concert attracted an even smaller audience than the last few rehearsals, and the quality of performance was only mediocre.
