“Musical matters are now at their stillest, save in up-town gardens and the Park, where such excitement as the weather permits is indulged in by the public. In the operatic way there is nothing, save the Worrell Sisters. These pretty, but singular artists, have made a hit in the ‘Grand Duchess,’ and that work is played nightly at the New-York Theatre to very good audiences. Each lady has a host of champions and admirers, and hence there is what may be called, without offence, a three-part clacque in the house every night. Nothing can suppress it, nor, so far as the ladies are concerned, is it desirable that it should be suppressed. The work is given with spirit, and the chorus and the orchestra are quite efficient.”
