"The annual ball of the Neptune Club was given last evening at Ferrero’s Apollo Hall, 28th St. and Broadway. They had a large and fashionable crowd in attendance. The hall was quite elegant. As early as ten o’ clock the floor was filled with ladies and gentlemen, and by eleven o’ clock every inch of the dancing room was taken. A program of twenty-four dances encased in a silver shell was handed to each lady upon entering. Each dance was followed by promenade music. This ball will be known as one of the most enjoyable events of the year."
