“The Christmas attraction at the Broadway Theatre will be Mr. and Mrs. Barney Williams in the entertaining and extremely picturesque drama of The Emerald Ring, which may now be said to fit the public to a nicety.  Of the ring mementos of this place, manager Moore has distributed over 5,000.”

The Emerald Ring is a success.  The sensational effects of the wrecked ship and the rising tide engulfing the fair heroine of the drama are so painfully natural that the silence which they command from the audience becomes so intense that the drawing of breath and almost the beating of hearts can be heard.  However, the doomed are saved just in time.  The piece will continue for a long time.
