The last meeting of the North–East Sängerbund discussed the possible reason for the financial failure of the picnic on August 3rd. Only one could be found: too many picnics and festivals in the recent months. Events of this kind have reached the saturation point.

The delegates decided to have a big picnic next Whit Monday [in 1869], and the executive committee shall already negotiate with Jones Wood as the venue. The individual choruses are asked to refrain from scheduling festivals and picnics for that day. In addition, only choruses of which at least one third of the active members dedicate themselves to the big picnic from beginning to end, are allowed to participate and will also have a part of the financial gain of the event which is completely used for the Baltimore Choral festival.

A proposal was made to give a benefit concert for the German hospital; however, only under the condition the hospital takes over the costs. The delegates of the individual choruses will have to approve to pass the motion.

The next meeting will be on October, the 11th.

The next meeting of the North–East Sängerbund delegates gives all the choruses of New York and vicinity the opportunity to join the association. The only condition is to have at least 20 active members. Only as a member of the North–East Sängerbund can a chorus participate in the Baltimore Choral Festival. Interested choruses can send delegates to the meeting who will be allowed to participate in the elections for new officers.
