The performances of individual participants at the Liederkranz musical-declamatory soiree last Sunday were mediocre, except for the declamations. Of the women who sang that night, only Miss Saenger and Miss Klein satisfied rather low expectations. Miss Pfaffman, who possesses a quite beautiful voice, has adopted the habit of extreme tremolo which results in a constant off-pitch. Miss Rockoll needs to refrain from forcing her powerful voice and correct its sharpness.
