“The Frisco Minstrels have produced a most laughable sketch [on?] the burlesque of  the ‘Forty Thieves,’ which they call ‘The 40 Thieves, Condensed to Two.’ It is something new, and convulses the audience with laughter for several minutes. The banjo solo by Billy West was well given, and received an encore. Bobby Newcomb’s songs and dances receive from three to four encores each evening. In the first part Aynsely Scott sang with spirit, ‘No such Girl as Mine,’ and Mr. Wambold was encored in ‘Oh, Kiss Me Again.’ The performance terminated with the old ‘Masquerade Ball’ called on the bills ‘Shakespearean Festival.’”
