Brief. “‘School’ has drawn crowded houses at Wallack’s Theater since Monday last, and is evidently detained to have a long and prosperous run.”

“Mr. J. G. Hanley, the very competent, faithful, and hard-working stage-manager of Wallack’s Theater, has, we are pained to learn, suffered a great deal of late from sickness. Mr. Hanley goes to Booth’s Theater, by and by, we believe, when he will be succeeded, at Wallack’s Theater, by Mr. James Schönberg.”

“We have often wondered why Mr. Wallack did not give matinées, and we suspect that he himself will be puzzled at the circumstance after the experiment of to-day. There cannot be a doubt about the house being completely filled. The play, ‘School,’ is extremely popular, and it is given with much effect, both in a scenic and dramatic point of view. There are thousands who cannot visit the theatre at night-time, and who will be glad to avail themselves of to-day’s representation. All that need be said to the wise is—go early. There will be another matinée on Saturday next.”
