San Francisco Minstrels

“The San Francisco Minstrels gave an enjoyable entertainment last week. The singing in the first part was excellent, as was the funny business by the end men. In the olio were a series of very laughable acts. Billy Birch is as funny as ever, both on the end and in the olio, and he is ably assisted by his coadjutor, Backus. The middle business of Bernard is also excellent. David Wambold enjoys a hard earned reputation as a ballad singer, Ainsley Scott, Ira Paine, Bobby Newcomb, Billy West, Cooper and Fields, and Billy Emmet, help to make up a good minstrel entertainment.”
