“At the Fifth-avenue [sic] Theatre, Maillart’s opera, ‘Les Dragons de Villars,’ the success of which is a gratifying proof of popular musical intelligence, will be repeated to-night and on Wednesday and Friday. Mlle. Tostee will appear as Boulotte in ‘Barble Blue’ [sic] on the alternate evenings of the week.”

“FAITS DIVERS . . . . Les Dragons de Villars proceeds day by day towards a real success. The receipts increase at each performance, which proves that works of true value always find their appreciators.

M. Decrée has resumed the role of Sylvain and performs it in a more than agreeable manner. He’s very congenial; they applaud him for his part in the duet and also in his romance which he sings with a good deal of expressiveness.

Irma Marié’s admirers (and they are numerous) recognize that Barbe-Bleue makes a good morrow for Les Dragons de Villars; and Tostée’s partisans (they are not few!) confirm that Les Dragons de Villars make a pretty enough morrow for Barbe-Bleue.

The eclectics say quite simply that the hits follow each other although the talents don’t resemble one another.”
