Mostly about the balloon. “The exhibition was prefaced by a promenade concert, commencing at two o’clock, and the visitors managed to beguile the hours occupied by the tedious details of preparation in accordance with the dictates of their own sweet wills and in the manner characteristic of New York holiday occasions.” Evidently Chevalier landed safely in Astoria in his balloon at 6:30pm.
