Alexander Young, front doorkeeper of the Old Bowery Theatre, died suddenly on May 24th, of hemorrhage of the lungs. He was 51 years of age, and was buried on Sunday, May 30th, with Masonic honors. Mr. Young was an Englishman by birth, and had been connected with the New York theatres for some years. He was with James Lingard at the New Bowery, and followed him to the Theatre Comique, Broadway, and afterwards went to the Old Bowery. He was widely known and highly esteemed.”
