“Boston prides itself on its jubilee [a multi-day festival that took place in June 1869], but it must acknowledge its indebtedness to New York in the person of Harvey Dodworth and his splendid band. The following resolution speaks for itself:—‘At a late meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Peace Jubilee Association, it was unanimously voted That [sic] our thanks are due to Mr. Harvey B. Dodworth, of New York, for the able and faithful service rendered by him as conductor of the military band on occasion of the recent Jubilee ball.’ Many other very complimentary remarks of a similar nature were made by the members of the committee and the hospitalities of the city promised to Mr. Dodworth whenever he visits the Hub again.”
