“‘Hiccory Diccory’ Fox pursues the noisless tenor of his way, which, by the by, is a very successful way, at the Olympic. The pantomime still contains much that is really amusing, and is replete with nonsense, fun and tricks. Singalli [sic] and the Kiralfy troupe of sensational dancers continue to work themselves nightly into a state of excitement and perspiration to please their cool and unfeeling auditors.”
Announces the upcoming withdrawal of Hiccory diccory dock and praises Fox’s performance. Also mentions a change in the dancing component that will occur the following week. No mention of music.
“‘Hiccory Diccory Dock’ is the reigning attraction at the Olympic Theatre, where the audience are kept as cool as at any theatre in the city, by a patent arrangement. In the centre of the dome is a small but powerful sun light of sufficient power to light the entire house, while all the other lights are put out, thereby doing away with so much heat from said side lights. Directly over this sun light are small holes for the escape, through the roof, of the heat, while there are other ventilators on the side for a current of fresh air to pass into the auditorium. In addition to this, the long fans are kept in motion, and the house, on the warmest evening, is really comfortable.”
