“Whatever may be the weather, the Central Park Garden is always full. During the extreme heat of the past week people rushed to the Garden as the coolest place in the city; and now that the nights have become delightfully pleasant, the Garden is instinctively selected as the best possible place in which to enjoy the cool evening breezes. The orchestral concerts are the very best of their kind. Mr. Thomas never gives us poor music, and his programmes are always arranged tastefully and skillfully. This evening …[program for Aug. 27]. Mr,. Levy and his marvelous cornet are still among the chief attractions of the Garden, and are always greeted with enthusiastic applause. The regulations of the Garden are so admirable that perfect order prevails, and the entire establishment deserves nothing but unqualified praise.”
