Review: New York Herald, 07 December 1869, 10.

Positive review. “…Lotta introduced a new figure in an Irish jig last night and made a ‘break down’ of it, much to the merriment of all present. Together with ‘The Little Detective,’ the roaring farce of ‘An Object of Interest’ was given, thus reviving old times, when, no matter what the attraction in the early part of the evening, a good rollicking farce brought the night’s entertainment to a close. Lotta played Fanny Grebbles in the farce, and gave a banjo solo, which was called for three times…”

“…During the past week she [Lotta] appeared in ‘The Little Detective,’ and ‘An Object of Interest.’ In the former she assumed six different characters—singing a number of songs, executing an Irish jig, and singing, in the character of a Dutch girl, a Tyrolean song… [she] was most happily received throughout.”
