“Despite the execrable weather the audience was quite respectable in numbers and in quality at the concert of the Young Men’s Christian Association yesterday afternoon. Whatever faults may be found with the merits of the performers, or with the performance itself, there is no disputing the popularity of both. Mr. Mora was nervous, and showed his uneasiness; he is, however, a conscientious and careful organist. Mr. Macdonald was in good voice and sang with life and force. Mr. Levy’s cornet playing defies criticism, and always delights. Miss Hamlin, a young Boston soprano, has a clear and pleasant voice.”
